Warm, chocolatey, with a slight crunch, these brownies will melt in your mouth and warm your tastebuds. Made with rich cocoa powder and chopped hazelnuts, you will have brownies that taste like Nutella. With no butter, these brownies even take a walk on the healthier side of dessert.

Ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 cups chocolate (powder)
  • 1/2 cup ground hazelnuts
  • 1 cup boiling water

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Grease a square or rectangular pan with butter and sprinkle with flour. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, add all ingredients except the boiling water. Beat very well, until smooth.
  4. Add the boiling water and beat again, carefully, as it may splash.
  5. Pour the batter in the pan, and bake for 25-30 minutes. Do not overcook.

My kids call these Nutella brownies even though they don't use the rich, chocolate spread. The chocolate powder and ground hazelnuts actually create and even better combination than the processed spread the kids love. These are really easy to make, and we even do this as a family because they love them so much. Once you begin baking, keep an eye on them from 25 minutes on. Overdone leaves them hard as a rock. You want them moist and gooey.
