Take a break from the norm with these grownup Popsicles made with milk chocolate, coconut flakes and raisin or muscatel wine. An added boon: since they're made with yogurt and feature no added sugar, they're fairly virtuous. If you prefer dark chocolate, feel free to swap it out in equal measure. You'll need ice-pop molds and 24 hours of advance freezing time to make them, so be sure to plan accordingly.

Ingredients

  • 4 milk chocolate (squares)
  • plain yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon coconut flakes
  • wine (raisin, or muscatel)

Directions

  1. Place an ice pop mold in a freezer for 24 hours.
  2. Insert the sticks.
  3. Melt the chocolate in a microwave.
  4. Leave to cool and mix with the yogurt and coconut.
  5. Add a little raisin wine or muscatel for flavoring.
  6. Fill the ice pop molds with the mixture and leave to set for up to 15 minutes.
  7. Remove from the molds and sprinkle with a little tepid water and cover with coconut.

We’ve used a variety of sweet wines for these pops and come back to the muscatel every time. We’ve also melted dark chocolate squares, rather than milk chocolate, and enjoyed the contrast of a deeper, bitterer cocoa with the sweet wine.
