Ingredients

  • 125 grams margarine
  • 140 grams sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs (separated)
  • 250 grams flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons dry yeast
  • 225 milliliters milk (warm)
  • chocolate sprinkles
  • ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. Heat a waffle iron.
  2. Beat the margarine, sugar, vanilla, and egg yolks until frothy.
  3. Separately, mix the flour, yeast, and milk. Add a small amount of chocolate sprinkles and cinnamon to taste.
  4. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture.
  5. Separately, beat the egg whites to soft peaks. Fold into the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the waffle iron and cook.
  7. Serve warm.

Top these waffles with canned cherry pie filling and mascarpone cheese. They are also great rolled up in to cone shapes and baked to crisp them, then filled with ice cream. There are so many creative possibilities for this breakfast dish.
