This recipe is packed with many sweet flavors and only takes 30 minutes to make. Chocolate is the star of the dish while the plantains compliment it with a sweet taste. This is a great dessert to serve at a dinner party, and can even be a side dish.

Ingredients

  • 100 grams chocolate
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 75 grams butter
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 plantain
  • jam (berry)

Directions

  1. In a saucepan, melt together the chocolate and milk. Once melted, remove from heat and whisk in the butter.
  2. Separately, beat the egg yolks and sugar together. Add this to the chocolate.
  3. In another bowl, beat the egg whites into stiff peaks, adding a little salt so it does not fall.
  4. Fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture.
  5. Pour the mousse into individual glasses and refrigerate until set. Garnish with plantain and berry jam.

This gluten free recipe is so great that I have made it 3 times already. It’s very decadent and yet has a light and airy taste to it. I love that its chocolate, and I can have it. Being gluten free can be a pain sometimes, but this one just hit the spot. I used bananas instead of plantains, but it was every bit just as good. You simply must try this one.
