Calling all chocolate cake lovers! Here is a amazing dessert cake recipe that will please any veteran chocolate cake lover. If you are anything like me, you know there is always some room for dessert. This chocolate cake has only 830 calories and takes just over a hour to make which includes the bake time. Ingredients

  • 200 grams flour
  • 285 grams sugar
  • 4 cocoa (level tbsp., powdered)
  • 2 baking powder (level tsp.)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • salt
  • 2 cocoa (level tbsp., powdered)
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175C.
  2. Sift the flour with the cocoa, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Cream the butter with the sugar and add the eggs, one at a time, while beating continuously.
  4. Add the milk, vanilla extract, and the dry ingredients; beat until the batter is thick and creamy.
  5. Pour the batter into a 24 centimeter buttered and floured cake pan.
  6. Bake for 50 minutes.
  7. Remove the cake from the oven.
  8. Combine the cocoa, milk, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a small saucepan over low heat.
  9. Pour the icing all over the cake while still hot.
