Ingredients

  • 200 grams flour
  • 285 grams sugar
  • 4 cocoa (level tbsp., powdered)
  • 2 baking powder (level tsp.)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • salt
  • 2 cocoa (level tbsp., powdered)
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 175C.
  2. 2Sift the flour with the cocoa, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  3. 3Cream the butter with the sugar and add the eggs, one at a time, while beating continuously.
  4. 4Add the milk, vanilla extract, and the dry ingredients; beat until the batter is thick and creamy.
  5. 5Pour the batter into a 24 centimeter buttered and floured cake pan.
  6. 6Bake for 50 minutes.
  7. 7Remove the cake from the oven.
  8. 8Combine the cocoa, milk, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a small saucepan over low heat.
  9. 9Pour the icing all over the cake while still hot.
