Chocolate Hearts on an Edible Plate

These little heart treats are supre simple to prepare and are served on an edible plate, making for a beautiful presentation. This makes a great edible gift for your special someone on Valentine's day. If you have kids in the house, this recipe is great to do with them, as they can each make their own little plate and then top it with the cookies, which they can cut into different shapes.

  • 200g pralinoise
  • 70g gavottes or lace pralines
  • almond (or white tint with a little dye)

  1. Melt the chocolate, add the small pieces of broken lace crêpes, stir and spread this mixture on parchment paper to a thickness of 0.5 cm (you can use a rolling pin to do this, just make sure to cover the chocolate mixture with another sheet of parchment paper, otherwise it will stick to the rolling pin). Chill for 30 minutes in the refrigerator. Remove the chocolate and cut out shapes using cookie cutters. Roll out the almond paste 0.3 cm thick. Cut out shapes and make a sandwich using two pieces of chocolate. For the plate, I melted red and milk chocolate, I spread it with a spoon on a paper placemat, In thick layer so that it does not split. Let it harden in the refrigerator for 1 hour and gently remove the paper.
