Made with the illustrious chocolate-hazelnut spread, these chocolate hazelnut brownies also combine chopped hazelnuts and chocolate chunks into the batter for more flavor and texture. Bake time on these brownies is 20 minutes. Be careful not to overbake as it will lead to dried out brownies.

Ingredients

  • 100 grams margarine (room temperature)
  • 80 grams sugar
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 2 eggs (medium-sized)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 90 grams flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 100 grams hazelnuts (chopped)
  • 100 grams dark chocolate (chunked)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius.
  2. Line a 15- by 25-centimeter baking pan with parchment paper.
  3. Cream together the margarine and sugar. Add the chocolate hazelnut spread and mix well.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then add the vanilla.
  5. Separately, sift together the flour and baking powder.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients just until the flour is absorbed.
  7. Fold in the hazelnuts and dark chocolate.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes being careful not to overbake, as this will cause the brownies to dry out.
