These muffins pair two types of chocolate with cinnamon for a sweet and flavorful pastry. Milk chocolate and dark chocolate stud the lightly sweet batter, which gets extra moisture and a bit of tartness from the addition of yogurt. You can eat these as an indulgent breakfast or try them topped with a drizzle of chocolate ganache for dessert. No matter how you enjoy these, they will soon be a family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 140 grams flour
  • 40 grams granulated sugar
  • salt
  • 10 grams baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 75 grams milk chocolate
  • 75 grams white chocolate
  • 1 egg
  • 125 milliliters plain yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • vanilla extract
  • brown sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, granulated sugar, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and chocolate and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the egg, yogurt, oil, and vanilla. Mix well. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until a thin batter forms.
  4. Lightly oil a muffin tin and fill two-thirds full with batter. Sprinkle some brown sugar on top of the batter.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes. To check if they are done, pierce with a toothpick; it should come out clean.

Chocolate and cinnamon go very well together and these muffins illustrate that fact nicely. They were amazing served warm at breakfast. My kids are already asking me to make them again. Very good!
