With just three ingredients, this may be the easiest homemade ice cream ever. Chestnut cream, heavy cream, and cocoa powder are all that is needed for this rich and deliciously nutty ice cream. The easiest preparation method is with an ice cream machine, but never fear if you do not have one! This recipe includes instructions for preparation without an ice cream machine as well. Give yourself plenty of time to make before serving. While not labor intensive, you do need lots of time for cooling!

Ingredients

  • 370 milliliters chestnut cream
  • 370 milliliters heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Directions

  1. Mix the chestnut cream, heavy cream, and cocoa powder in a bowl and refrigerate for 30 minutes until cold.
  2. Pour this mixture into an ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer’s directions.
  3. Freeze for 2 hours until very firm.
  4. If you do not have an ice cream machine, put the cold mixture into a metal bowl, freeze, and stir every 20 minutes until set.
