Description

This simple chocolate cake is made with just 10 ingredients and comes together in just over an hour for a rich and delicious dessert. In this recipe a simple icing is made with margarine, condensed milk, and melted chocolate for a rich and creamy topping. You can add some sprinkles to make the cake festive if you are celebrating a birthday or top each sliced with a dallop of whipped cream and some fresh berries for a more grownup feel.

Ingredients

250 grams unsweetened chocolate
10 egg yolks
10 egg whites (beaten)
300 grams sugar
175 grams margarine (melted)
250 grams flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
250 grams unsweetened chocolate
175 grams margarine
1 can condensed milk

Directions

1Preheat the oven to 180 Celsius degrees.
2Melt the chocolate in a double boiler.
3Beat the egg yolks with the sugar, then the melted margarine and melted chocolate, flour and baking powder; and finally, the beaten egg whites.
4Pour into a greased and floured, high-sided cake pan.
5Bake for about 30 minutes.
6Melt the chocolate in a double boiler.
7Melt the margarine and let cool, then stir it a little.
8Mix the margarine and the chocolate, then add the condensed milk.
9Mix until you get a homogeneous consistency.
10When the cake is cold, cut it in half, and spread icing on the bottom half. Replace the top of the cake, and ice the entire surface.
