- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks or ½ pound, softened, but not melted!)
- 3 1/2 cups sugar (confectioners, powdered)
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon table salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (or 1 teaspoon almond extract)
- 4 tablespoons milk (or heavy cream)

really good icing texture and creaminess. Used 2/3 c of cocoa powder instead of 1/2, gave a better chocolate flavor.

Excellent and easy recipe. Next time, though, I will only use half the recommended amount of salt as it was a little on the salty side for me. Used most of it to cover a two layer cake for Hubby's Birthday and he thought it was phenomenal. Had some left over for him to add to his slice since he loves frosting. Will definitely use this recipe again!

Very Good! Need to use a Serving size of 4. Put it on a two layer round Chocolate Cake. Will make again!
