Description

Brownies are a classic American dessert favorite. Chocolatey and just the right amount of melty, brownies are sure to be your next guilty pleasure. These brownies are made with rich dark chocolate melted into the batter for a smooth chocolatey finish. The next vital question is nuts or no nuts. This recipe recommends adding them for a fun crunch, but feel free to leave them out as well. Or add chocolate chips for even more chocolate!

Ingredients

180 grams butter
200 grams dark chocolate
180 grams sugar
1 pinch salt
3 eggs
1 yolk
85 grams flour
1 baking powder (scant tsp.)
75 grams nuts (or dried fruit of choice, optional)

Directions

1Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
2Line a 15 by 25 centimeter baking dish with aluminum foil.
3In a large, microwave-safe bowl add the butter and dark chocolate. On medium power, microwave them together for 30 seconds then stir. Repeat until melted.
4Add the sugar and pinch of salt. Mix well.
5Then mix in the eggs and the extra egg yolk mixing well after each one.
6Sift in the flour and baking powder and stir until just absorbed.
7If you choose to use the nuts or dried fruit, at this point you would fold them into the batter.
8Pour the batter into the baking dish and bake 20 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
