Bananas and chocolate are one combination that simply cannot be beat. Delicate and flaky puff pastry envelops banana and chocolate in these delicious little pastries. In the oven, the puff pastry gets crispy while the chocolate melts and coats the bananas ensuring you get a perfect bite every time. These can be eaten as a snack or dessert, they are especially delicious with a scoop of ice cream on top while they are still warm from the oven.

Ingredients

  • 4 puff pastry (individual, squares, or 4 cut squares from rolls of puff pastry)
  • 2 bananas
  • 6 squares dark chocolate (crushed)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • brown sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place the pastry squares on baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  3. Slice bananas and place half a banana in the center of each pastry square.
  4. Spread the crushed chocolate on the banana.
  5. Close each turnover in two as pictured.
  6. Mix the egg yolk with a teaspoon of water.
  7. Brush the turnovers with the egg mixture and sprinkle with brown sugar.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes.
