100% making this again, everyone at the party loved it and devoured it all. Per the recommendation of a previous reviewer, I did add panko bread crumbs to the flour and did add a number of spices to the flour. Added cracked pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, seasoned salt, cayenne pepper, and chili powder to the flour mix. To go the extra mile I added bacon bits to the buttermilk/chipotle mixture and added some more flavor to it.

It's alright, just not great. This recipe is not too far off from a spicy Cajun popcorn chicken, which is a great recipe. Make the "tweeks" by using hot sauce and Cajun seasoning. Oh, and by adding Panko to the flour, they will turn out lighter and crispier. Just saying ... Just my opinion.

This recipe is absolutely amazing! My husband loved it too! I would compare the tenderness/texture of it to Chick-fil-A. I have made them as popcorn chicken bite appetizers. I'm planning on making the pieces a little bigger so they can go on slider buns (like Kings Hawaiian). My favorite thing about this recipe is that it wasn't too salty. Just right.
