This is a Chinese dish that is perfect to serve for an appetizer, that is made to eat in just under 15 minutes. The iceberg lettuce adds texture, while the carrots and ham add color. The blended oil, agar and vinegar make a creamy sauce which compliments the salad greatly.

Ingredients

  • 50 milliliters vinegar
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sunflower oil
  • salt
  • agar
  • iceberg lettuce (chopped)
  • 1 slice black forest ham
  • carrot (peeled and cut into thin slices)

Directions

  1. In a bowl, add the vinegar, sugar, sunflower oil and a pinch of salt and agar and blend for about 3 to 4 minutes until creamy and white.
  2. Rest 10 minutes, and then dress the salad.

This Chinese Salad tasted just like something right out of a Chinese restaurant. It had that authentic sweet and sour sauce that you normally get from those restaurants and it tasted divine. I plan to make this 4 star recipe again in the near future.
