Full of flavor, this chicken dish will bring a bright unique flavor to your dinner table. Marinated in a honey, garlic, and soy sauce marinade, this chicken is beautifully tender and flavorful. Make sure you leave a couple hours for the meat to marinate before cooking for maximum flavor. Baked instead of fried, this chicken is low in fat and pairs wonderfully with freshly steamed vegetables and your favorite rice variety.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 kilograms chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 soup (spoons olive oil)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 cloves garlic (chopped)

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, ketchup, oil, and garlic. Beat all the ingredients together well.
  2. Add the chicken to the sauce and ensure the chicken is completely covered.
  3. Marinate in the refrigerator for a few hours, or as long as possible.
  4. Preheat the oven to 200C.
  5. Place the chicken with the skin side up on a lined baking tray, adding the marinade too.
  6. Cook for 30 minutes.
  7. Turn over and cook for a further 30 minutes on 180C.
