Description

These simple chicken pizzas use pita bread as the crust, so you don't have to wait for the dough to rise or roll it out which takes a lot of the time and effort out of making pizza. Sauteed mushrooms, onions, and green chiles add tons of flavors to the pizza and perfectly accent the chicken. This recipe is perfect for when you have leftover chicken you want to use, and it comes together in around 40 minutes so it is great for weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 onion (sliced)
  • 1 green chili pepper (in strips)
  • 200 grams mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 4 pita breads
  • 3 chicken breasts (cooked and diced)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (grated)

    Directions

    1. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius.
    2. Spray a saucepan with cooking oil, then saute the onion and chili. Once the onion becomes transparent, add the mushrooms and cook until the mushrooms are done. Season with Worcestershire sauce and cook for 2 more minutes. Set aside.
    3. Warm the pita breads. Add a layer of vegetables, chicken, and 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese per pita.
    4. Bake until the cheese melts and serve immediately.
