Description

Make yourself a cup of hot cocoa and get ready to curl up in front of the fire because we have the perfect holiday cookie recipe for you. These chestnut cookies require just 5 ingredients and are ready in less than an hour. We recommend using whole chestnuts that you boil and mash yourself as opposed to buying chestnut puree in order to get the must warm chestnut flavor into the cookies. Dunk in your cocoa or tea for a sweet nighttime treat.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams chestnuts
  • 180 grams softened butter
  • 180 grams dark brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 400 grams flour (sifted)

Directions

  1. 1Cook the chestnuts in boiling water.
  2. 2Once cooked, peel them one by one. Then crush with a fork, and set aside.
  3. 3Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  4. 4Beat the butter with the sugar and chestnuts.
  5. 5Add the eggs one by one, and whisk again. Add the flour, and mix for a dry dough.
  6. 6On a floured surface, roll out the dough, and cut out the cookies.
  7. 7Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, separated by 4 fingers between each one.
  8. 8Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the cookies are golden.
