Rich in cherry flavor, this homemade Cherry Tart is easy to make and ready in just an hour. Make your own pastry dough for the crust or you can opt to purchase a premade dough. The cherry filling is assembled as you go for a simple yet elegant blend of sweet and tart flavors. Spiced with cinnamon, this Cherry Tart can be served at any occasion and provides the perfect excuse to go cherry picking.

Ingredients

  • pastry dough
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 handful cherries (halved and pitted)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
  2. Roll out the pastry dough into a circle with a rolling pin and set aside on parchment paper.
  3. Sprinkle the cornstarch over the dough and place the cherries on top, leaving a border of at least 5 centimeters around the edge of the dough.
  4. Fold the edge of the dough up around the entire tart.
  5. Sprinkle the fruit with sugar and cinnamon to taste.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes.

I have always been a huge fan of cherry tarts; however, nothing can compare to the deliciousness of this recipe. It had a prominent cherry taste that gave it a sweet and sour taste to it that was really pleasurable to eat. I plan to make this 5 star recipe again real soon.
