The cherry filling is assembled as you go for a simple yet elegant blend of sweet and tart flavors. Spiced with cinnamon, this Cherry Tart can be served at any occasion and provides the perfect excuse to go cherry picking.

Ingredients

  • pastry dough
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 handful cherries (halved and pitted)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
  2. 2Roll out the pastry dough into a circle with a rolling pin and set aside on parchment paper.
  3. 3Sprinkle the cornstarch over the dough and place the cherries on top, leaving a border of at least 5 centimeters around the edge of the dough.
  4. 4Fold the edge of the dough up around the entire tart.
  5. 5Sprinkle the fruit with sugar and cinnamon to taste.
  6. 6Bake for 25 minutes.
