My kids loved this! I made it with veggie pasta and they still loved it!

This dish was a total hit, and my family has notoriously picky eaters! Taking advice from some other reviews, I made a few changes to amp up flavor, such as using chopped onions and garlic instead of powder, and cooking the spices with the meat (2 tsp paprika, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tbsp ground pepper, 1 tbsp of ground mustard, 1.5 tbsp worcerstershire sauce). I used beef broth instead of water, and mixed in 1 tbsp flour (instead of cornstarch) before adding to the pot so as to avoid clumping. In addition to 1 cup sharp shredded cheddar, I added 1 cup velveeta to increase the cheesy goodness. Since there was all that cheese, I didn’t use any salt (a cheat to reducing sodium intake), and I avoided using sugar completely. Served it up with an avocado and tomato salad, and I have to say, this turned out so much better than I expected. I doubt I can ever go back to that boxed, powder flavoring hamburger helper ever again.

Really good although I think I’ll try flour instead of corn starch next time to smooth out the consistency. Also probably won’t use sugar but was impressed with simplicity and taste! Kids liked it too 😁

Decent recipe, simple, easy to make, but not a lot of flavor going on.

Easy, filling, and tastes great. I added a bit of Worcestershire, steak sauce, ketchup, and mustard to make it taste more like a cheeseburger.

I really enjoyed this one. Used onion and garlic instead of powdered of each and added Worcestershire and ground mustard like some other reviews suggested. Left out sugar. Came out great and the kids really liked it too. Will make again!

This dish turned out great. I did have to add some additional seasoning for my taste but this is definitely better than the manufactures hamburger helper. It's also inexpensive considering I had most of the ingridents in my cabinet with exceptions to the ground beef and pasta noodles.

As everyone has said - needs some serious help with the flavor profile. This is amazingly bland. We did a family experiment - add your own flavor. Recipe was followed exactly except split the cheese - 1/2 shredded cheddar, colby jack and 1/2 velveeta. Two winners were adding Tostitos queso cheese and adding Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning. Both added too much salt to the profile but added much needed flavor. Trick might be modifying the beef browning process so there is depth to the dish. It is not bad and can be a lot of fun for those who like to tweak flavors. It is truly a blank canvass.

It’s not bad, but it needs more everything. Kind of bland.

It was delicious! I used ground turkey and in addition to the recipe’s ingredients I added a tablespoon of vegetable bouillon. Served with broccoli on the side.

The whole family enjoyed this recipe. I took another reviewers advice and did half cheddar and half Velveeta, which made it creamy. Next time I will use all Velveeta.

Fabulous! Kids bored of the same old mince recipe. I did add a diced onion to it. Thumbs up, so much so they want it for dinner tomorrow too .... would serve with peas.

I added cumin for the ground beef and chili powder and it was really good. I think it would be good with onion too :)

My mom made this dish for us when we were growing up. Once I got older, the one ingredient I added was " Velveeta cheese"!!! That's what was missing...mixed with cheddar it really gives it a good taste/kick! Once the Velvetta is added the recipe gets 5 stars
