Description

Cheesy, rosemary-scented breadsticks contain yeast, creating a tender, slightly raised dough. Of course, you can incorporate any fresh or dried herb you like; try thyme and black pepper. For a bit of flourish, twist the sticks before placing them on the baking sheet. Serve them as part of a next-level cheese plate, with antipasto are as savory snack with a cup of tea. These breadsticks are best served warm, so reheat leftovers in the oven to revive them.

Ingredients

  • 5 grams yeast
  • 4 tablespoons warm water
  • 200 grams flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 60 grams parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh rosemary (minced)
  • 4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

Directions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. 2Dissolve the yeast in the water.
  3. 3In a bowl, mix the flour, salt, cheese, and rosemary.
  4. 4Add the yeast and oil, and mix to flour. Add warm water as necessary if the dough appears too hard.
  5. 5Allow the dough to rest at room temperature for 45 minutes.
  6. 6Take a small amount of dough and form into a stick 20 centimeters long and 1 centimeter thick.
  7. 7Place on parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Repeat with the rest of the dough and bake for 20 minutes.
  8. 8Lower the temperature to 150 C and bake for 10 minutes.
