- 6 New York (top loin) pork chops (1 1/2-inch thick)
- 2 tsp. butter
- 2 tsp. olive oil
- 1 cup dried apricots
- 3/4 cup golden raisins
- 1/2 cup almonds (slivered)
- 3 cups orange juice
- 1 tsp. fresh ginger root (grated)
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg (freshly grated)
- 1/4 tsp. allspice

Directions
- In a large heavy skillet, melt butter with olive oil over medium-high heat and brown chops on both sides. Remove chops to a deep casserole with a lid, mix together all other ingredients and add to casserole. Cover and bake in a 350 degrees F. oven for 45 minutes, until pork is tender and the internal temperature on a thermometer reads 160 degrees F. Serve chops the fruited pan juices, if desired.
