Description

This cake uses carob powder, which is a healthy and flavorful substitute for cocoa powder. Walnuts and coffee liqueur are added to this moist and boisterous cake for a flavor that is out of this world. Coffee cake does not have to be a boring adult snack, it can be a dreamy dessert!

Ingredients

5 eggs
150 grams butter
200 grams sugar (yellow)
200 grams flour
100 grams carob powder
1 orange juice
330 milliliters coffee liqueur
walnuts (to taste, crushed)

Directions

1Preheat oven to 160 degrees Celsius.
2Beat the egg whites until stiff.
3Beat the butter with the sugar. Add egg yolks, and beat again.
4Mix in the flours, little by little.
5Gradually, mix in the juice.
6Add the coffee liqueur and chopped walnuts, and mix.
7Add the stiff eggs whites, and mix gently.
8Pour into greased and floured cake pan.
9Bake for 40 minutes.
