This recipe makes the most of good-quality store-bought pizza dough and tomato sauce, or perhaps your own versions that you may have on hand (or prepare just for this purpose). Other than those two essentials, you'll need onion, mushrooms, bacon, and ham for the filling, as well as some oregano and Parmesan. Fold up the dough, crimp to seal, and bake for an Italian-style lunch (bonus: it's portable!) or dinner.

Ingredients

  • pizza dough
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 200 grams mushrooms (sliced)
  • 100 grams bacon (diced)
  • 100 grams ham (diced)
  • 100 milliliters tomato sauce
  • 50 grams parmesan cheese
  • oregano

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Celsius.
  2. Roll the pizza dough out into a circle and place on a baking tray covered with parchment paper.
  3. Saute the onion, mushrooms, bacon, and ham.
  4. Once softened, add the tomato sauce.
  5. On one half of the dough, pour out the sauteed mixture and cover with cheese and oregano.
  6. Now fold the pizza dough over and crimp the edges to seal them.
  7. Bake 15 minutes until golden.

You will need to double or triple this recipe, as they will go quickly. I love that you can customize each one according to your family’s needs. Since everyone likes different toppings, we play around with it a bit. If you’re real adventurous, make the dough from scratch too for the ultimate meal.
