Every mouthful of this dish is packed with onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes. Ready in just under 30 minutes, anyone can make this hot and spicy dish.

Ingredients

  • pasta
  • 150 grams tagliatelle
  • 1/2 onion (peeled and chopped)
  • 1/2 red bell pepper (seeded chopped)
  • 150 grams ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cayenne pepper (whole)
  • 14 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • parmesan cheese (grated, optional)

Directions

  1. Boil the pasta in salted water for 8 to 10 minutes.
  2. On low heat, saute together the onion and bell pepper.
  3. Once translucent, add the ground beef.
  4. When the ground beef is halfway cooked, add the thyme, rosemary, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and cayenne pepper.
  5. Add the canned tomatoes and simmer another 10 minutes
  6. Mix the drained pasta with the cajun sauce. Serve topped with Parmesan cheese.

made this with no meat (vegetarian) and it was pretty good. Nice spicy kick to it.

Very delicious, with a bit of heat. Substituted cayenne powder and ground cayenne for the pepper. Salt is also required. Would definitely make again!

I had maybe a half cup of evaporated milk in the fridge i added to make it a bit creamy. My Husband loved it. Will definitely make again.

Your store may or may not have the tagliatelle. If they don’t, you can just use the regular egg noodles in a wide variety. This recipe is hot, as in spicy hot. It’s not for the faint of heart. The flavors are so amazing and just blend well with the noodles and the meat sauce. This is probably not a kid friendly dish due to the spicy nature.
