Description

A creamy chocolate-buttermilk mixture is elevated with Grand Marnier, enriched with heavy cream and thickened with unflavored gelatin. The pops are poured into molds and refrigerated until firm and then dusted with toasted, crushed hazelnuts and whimsical sprinkles. Once you master the recipe, the variations are near-endless. For example, you can use whatever kind of chocolate you like, or swap the liqueur for Frangelico. They're best eaten within two days.

Ingredients

  • 80 grams plain chocolate
  • 2 sheets gelatin
  • 200 milliliters buttermilk
  • 100 grams heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Grand Marnier
  • 100 grams sugar

Directions

  1. 1Melt the chocolate in a bain marie. Soak the gelatin in warm water for 5 minutes.
  2. 2Warm the buttermilk and sugar in a small saucepan.
  3. 3Add the chocolate and liqueur.
  4. 4Strain the gelatine and add to the pan, stir until dissolved.
  5. 5Whip the cream and add to the mixture.
  6. 6Fill Popsicle moulds with the creamy mix and the sticks. Place in refrigerator for at least 5 hours.
  7. 7Before serving, remove popsicles from the molds and dust with crushed toasted hazelnuts and chocolate or colored sprinkles.
