Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon soda
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Directions

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and soda.
  2. Cut butter and cheese into flour mixture until it resembles coarse corn meal.
  3. Add milk; mix well.
  4. Drop by heaping tablespoon on a greased baking sheet.
  5. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes.
