Wonderful base recipe. Admittedly, I made a lot of mods based upon what I have plus personal preference. I didn't have Lipton soup mix so I diced half an onion and two cloves garlic. Sprinkled in a little extra garlic and onion powder. Sauteed that a little in butter and olive oil and then added ground turkey. Used chicken stock and white wine in lieu of the water. Added 2.5 tsp dried oregano and 1tsp Italian seasoning. Also added 2 Tbsp fish sauce to simmer for the hour and then another 2 tsp soy sauce (Bragg's liquid aminos) at the end. I didn't have elbow macaroni so used a cup of orichiette pasta and added a can of cannelloni (white beans). I did have frozen mixed veggies, so added those as suggested. Finally, when the soup was ready I stirred in a container of baby spinach because it had already been in the fridge too long. All of this to say that the soup came out so delicious. We topped with a bit of shredded parmesan and complemented with grilled cheese. So warm, hearty, and satisfying.

I added tomatoes with chilis for half the amount, and a dash of garlic, yummy soup! I'll make it again but maybe in the slow cooker.

I used ground turkey and used vegetable broth instead of the water and some cayenne pepper because I like it on the spicy side. I thought it was a great easy recipe to make with whatever tweaks you find to your liking. Will make it on another cold day when I don't really want to cook!!

Sounds like it needs garlic powder, onion powder, and make it with beef broth. I will try it with these changes.

I used turkey instead of beef and I think it needed a bit more seasoning. I was looking for a bit more jazz when it came to the flavor, but super easy to make!
