  • 1 head broccoli (divided into florets)
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt and ground black pepper


  1. Steam the broccoli until tender, approximately 6 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water. Place on paper towels to drive. Place into a serving dish.
  2. Whisk together the lemon juice and rind, garlic, and olive oil. Add salt and pepper and pour over the broccoli. Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes before serving.

I steam the broccoli, and then put olive oil, lemonjuice or limejuice and salt into a pan, make it hot and then turn the broccoli just for a minute in this hot mixture. For me it tastes fresher without garlic. I will try it with ginger next time... :D

This recipe is so simple, yet it is so flavorful. It goes along well with fish or chicken either one. I cut the garlic content in half, as I felt it was a bit much. Otherwise, the broccoli has an amazing savor that is sure to please.
