Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 shallot (peeled and sliced)
  • 1/2 head cabbage (trimmed and sliced)
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 4 chicken legs
  • 1 pinch sugar

Directions

  1. Heat 3 tbsp oil in a frying pan, add shallot and sauté for 2-3 mins, stirring. Add cabbage, wine and 3 tbsp water. Cover and simmer for 10-15 mins.
  2. Heat 3 tbsp oil in Dutch oven, season chicken then sear for 3-4 mins, turning. Add 1/2 cup water then add cabbage mixture. Simmer over low heat for 30-40 mins. Add sugar and season. Serve.
