Turned out Pink, which was still nice. I also decided to cut down half the sugar, lemon and lime and it was delicious!

I’m in agreement with “just ok”, Little too much extra work boiling cabbage leaves when you can get the SAME color and give cocktail a kick using plain old Kool-Aid Ice Blue Raspberry Lemonade Drink Mix (read the packer FIRST so you know how much to use in relation to your pitcher etc) OR Hawaiian Punch Polar Blast (Ready Made or in dry mix pouches same kool-aid advice applies) The key to remember is higher the acid more blue color changes so mix your blue separately and add a bit at a time til you like the shade. Also if you like vodka taste in ur lemonade dissolve blue skittles in a glass container with a little vodka in fridge overnight then depending on your taste strain and add to color/taste or skip the strainer and add a few at a time until desired color achieved. Key to color preservation is KEEP IT COLD

Hi! We tried this recipe today and had similar results to the others, and that’s because of CHEMISTRY!! The acid from the juice changes the pH of the cabbage water. So what I’m thinking is to try adjusting the recipe to use more cabbage with less juice and definitely less sugar as our tastebuds like 1C or less sugar in this recipe. More sugar made it more pink in our hands a slight purple tint with original recipe and 1C sugar. Next time we try twice the amount of leaves. 😀

The color didn’t turn out as I hoped, but it is pretty. It’s cooling now and I’m looking forward to seeing what it tastes like.

Tastes great! Mine came out purple than chilled to a bright red. My error though, missed the part that said only to boil the cabbage for 30seconds.

Love the blueberries in ice, but my lemonade is most certainly red. I can not think of a way that the color of the red cabbage and the yellow of the lemons could possibly form a blue color, but fun recipe nonetheless.
