Ingredients

  • 150 grams flour
  • 120 grams sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 85 grams baking chocolate
  • 150 grams corn oil
  • 4 grams baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave and allow to cool.
  3. In a bowl, beat the sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the melted chocolate, flour, oil, baking powder, and black pepper.
  5. Line and grease a rectangular 24 centimeters by 19 centimeters baking sheet.
  6. Pour in the mixture and smooth the surface.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Once cooled, cut into cubes.

I was pleasantly surprisedt to see how well black pepper would compliment chocolate. Use coarsely ground pepper instead of fine so the flavor really comes through. Also, try drizzling a little cream cheese frosting on top before you serve them.
