Description

A twist on a traditional Mexican treat. Taste the velvety smoothness of cheese, mixed with the sweet flavor of caramelized sugar. The decorations are a breeze to make, and they are edible as well. Perfect for taco night.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 kilogram bananas
  • 100 grams sugar
  • 50 grams brown sugar
  • 50 grams butter
  • cinnamon
  • 1/2 lemon

Directions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 170 Celsius.
  2. 2Cut the banana into slices approximately 2 centimeters thick. Place into a bowl along with the lemon juice and a little water.
  3. 3Heat the sugar and brown sugar together in a saucepan to form a caramel sauce and pour into the pie pan.
  4. 4Drain the bananas and place them over the caramel sauce. Dot with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  5. 5Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven, place the puffed pastry on top of the bananas, tucking in tightly, and bake for 20 minutes, until golden brown.
  6. 6Turn the tart out onto a platter and let cool slightly before serving.
