The holidays are about family, loved ones and friends, right? Aren’t they also about the heaps of holiday foods piled on the plates? This Baked Ham with Pineapple and Orange Juice will not only taste great on Christmas Day, it will be a family favorite year round. It not only makes the main dish a sweet treat, but also takes it to the next level of happiness for the holiday.
Ingredients

- 1 whole ham
- cloves
- 5 oranges (juice)
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 1/2 cups port wine
- butter (to taste)
- 1 can pineapple (sliced, and juice)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- Place the ham in a pan together with the port wine, butter, half the orange juice, and cloves.
- Cover the pan, and cook over medium heat for about 25 minutes.
- Remove the ham from the pan, and place in a baking tray or pyrex.
- Save the sauce.
- Mix the egg yolk with the mustard, and brush it on the ham.
- Mix the remaining orange juice with the juice from the pineapple slices, and place the pineapple slices in this mixture. In a skillet, brown the pineapple slices in the butter.
- Garnish the ham with the pineapple slices using toothpicks.
- Bake the ham for 4 or 5 hours, depending on weight. Use a meat thermometer to check if ham is completely cooked.
