What are you going to do with that package of ground beef you have in the refrigerator? Why not try this Baked Beef with Salsa? It takes about an hour to prepare, so make sure you have the time. The recipe, which feeds a family of four, includes ground beef, prepared spicy salsa, cubed stale bread, milk, minced garlic, minced onions, an egg, minced parsley, grated parmesan cheese, salt, and ground black pepper. Make sure to keep some salsa for topping.

Ingredients

  • 400 grams ground beef
  • 1/4 cup salsa (prepared spicy)
  • 1 roll (stale bread, cubed)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup onion (minced)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup parsley (minced)
  • 1/4 cup parmesan (grated)
  • salt and ground black pepper
  • salsa (Extra)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 Celsius.
  2. Mix the milk and bread together in a large bowl until the bread soaks in the milk. Mash into a paste.
  3. Add the beef, salsa, garlic, onion, parsley, parmesan, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Form into a log on aluminum foil and flatten to form a rectangle. Bake for approximately 20 minutes, spread with the additional salsa and return to oven. Bake for 10 minutes more.

This should be called a salsa burger. It is proof positive that salsa makes everything better. These remind me of a meatball that I used to make years ago. Making these in large form is even better. My whole family loved it and my oldest son asked for seconds. It’s very healthy too, as you are substituting some of the meat for salsa. Try using ground turkey to really increase the health factor. Put them on the grill too, it’s amazing.
