Description

A tasty autumn dessert that will not weigh heavily on your thighs or your conscience, these baked apples will leave a heavenly scent in your kitchen. Made with port wine, brown sugar, and featuring plum jam, these gluten free baked apples are great cold or hot and can be served alone or with your favorite ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 6 apples (rennet)
  • 1/2 lemon juice
  • 1 cup port wine
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons plum jam
  • nuts (to taste, broken by hand)

Directions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. 2Peel and core the apples, cut into quarters, and place on a baking tray.
  3. 3Add all the remaining ingredients on top of the apple pieces, and mix everything with a spoon. Bake for about 20 minutes or until the apples are baked.
  4. 4After removing from the oven, stir the apples with the sauce that was formed during baking.
  5. 5Serve hot or cold.
