Ingredients

- 500 milliliters milk
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1/4 cup cornmeal
- 1/4 cup water
- 125 grams almonds
- 1/2 cup sugar
Directions
- Warm up the milk in a pot along with 1 stick of cinnamon.
- While the milk is heating up, pour the cornmeal into a bowl and mix it with 1/4 cup of water.
- Once the milk begins to boil, add the cornmeal mix into the pan and stir.
- Pour the almonds, sugar, and 1 stick of cinnamon into the blender. Mix everything until the ingredients become a somewhat thick powder.
- When the milk begins to boil again, add the powder into the pot and mix everything well.
- Heat the milk for another 10 minutes and serve.

I have only had atole with oatmeal when I was a kid. This is a really different version using cornmeal that I bet tastes amazing. We always had this for breakfast, but I bet you could have it for a quick protein drink for lunch.
