Ingredients

  • 1 sheet pastry dough (puff)
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoons parmesan cheese (grated)
  • asiago cheese
  • salami
  • almond (Toasted, slices)
  • milk (for brushing)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190C.
  2. Roll out the sheet of puff pastry dough.
  3. Beat the egg with the parmesan cheese and brush the surface of the dough.
  4. Cover with slices of Asiago cheese, the sliced almonds, and the salami slices.
  5. Roll up the dough into a strudel and place it on a wax paper lined baking sheet.
  6. Brush the surface with the milk and bake for approximately 20 to 25 minutes (until golden).
  7. Remove the strudel from the oven and serve.

I cooked up this recipe just the other day as something new to introduce to my family and they inhaled it. The almond provided a nice taste to the dish and the salami really brought in a whole new taste with its salty and meaty goodness. A 5 star strudel I can see myself getting fat off of.
