Made easier with the help of prepared puff pastry, this savory pie features artichokes, ham, ricotta and pecorino, all tied together with eggs. Before it's popped in the oven to bake, slices of American cheese are placed on top. The results — best served warm, right out of the oven — are gooey, bubbly and inviting. You can swap out ingredients you favor in the event these don't suit you.

Ingredients

  • 1 roll (puff pastry, round)
  • 85 grams artichoke hearts (chopped)
  • 250 grams ricotta cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 teaspoons pecorino cheese
  • 50 grams cooked ham (diced)
  • salt
  • american cheese slices

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
  2. Roll out the pastry and place in a round, deep baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with the eggs. Add the pecorino cheese, ham, artichokes, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Place the mixture in the pie shell and bake for 25 minutes or until brown. Top with American cheese and bake for another 5 minutes.
  5. Serve warm.
