I put foil around the crust the entire time I baked it except the last 7 min. I took the foil off to brown the crust a little more and this pie is probably the easiest apple pie I have ever made and I am so proud of myself. I have never been more proud of a pie in my life! Pro tip-- absolutely put a baking sheet under this when you bake this for the entire time. Keep that oven clean, it will boil out a little bit. #nationalpiday

My pie fell apart on me once cooked but it was still very delicious with whipped cream or ice cream!
