Made in the comfort of your own kitchen, this Apple and Ginger Juice makes a refreshing drink on a warm autumn afternoon. Featuring fresh apples and ginger, this juice is spiced with star anise for additional autumn flavor. Serve over crushed ice and garnish with a star anise for a finishing touch of elegance. Ingredients

  • 6 apples
  • 10 grams fresh ginger
  • 4 anise (stars)
  • 400 grams crushed ice

Directions

  1. Wash and slice the apples, remove the core, and put them in a blender or food processor with the ginger interspersed with the fruit.
  2. Pour the obtained juice into a pan with the star anise, and heat to a boil.
  3. Let cool, remove the star anise, and refrigerate.
  4. Before serving, divide the juice into glasses, fill with crushed ice, and place a star anise on top.

I made this cooler for a crowd so I got lots of feedback. Some were surprised that ginger could “cool down” so well and most enjoyed the drink. I like to sip it out in the patio.
