Description

Apple crumble is a quick and easy crowd pleaser and a fall favorite. Made with honey and port wine, this apple crumble has a deep and rich flavor that is rounded out with the addition of chocolate chips. Sweet, salty, and just a little bit nutty, this apple crumble is a must bake.

Ingredients

4 pippin apples
1/2 lemon juice
600 milliliters port wine
3 tablespoons honey
ground cinnamon
1 cup oats
1 cup wheat flour
1 cup sugar (yellow)
1/2 cup chocolate chips
3/4 milk (melted margarine)

Directions

1Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
2Peel and core the apples, and cut into thin slices.
3Evenly distribute the apples in a baking tray, and sprinkle with lemon juice, Port wine, honey, and cinnamon.
4In a bowl, mix all the remaining ingredients with a wooden spoon, until obtaining a homogeneous mixture.
5Spread this topping on top of the apples, and bake until the apples are fully cooked.
6Serve cold, hot, or warm, with a scoop of ice cream.
