Description

Apple and cinnamon are a match made in heaven and perfect when cooler fall weather makes its appearance. Ready in an hour, this flaky pastry is loaded with apples and harvest flavor.

Ingredients

2 apples (large or 3 medium)
1/2 lemon juice
1 tablespoon sugar
250 grams sugar
150 grams margarine (softened)
5 eggs
250 grams flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
cinnamon (to taste)

Directions

1Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
2Grease a cake pan or cake mold with margarine and sprinkle it with flour. Set it aside.
3Peel and finely slice the apples and place them in a bowl.
4Pour the lemon juice over the apples and sprinkle them with the sugar. Set them in the refrigerator to cool.
5Combine the sugar in a bowl with the softened margarine and whisk them well. Add the eggs and whisk again.
6Finally, add the flour and baking powder and stir until the dough is well mixed.
7Pour the dough into the cake pan and place the apple slices over the top, vertically, so they are deep into the dough.
8Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes. Test the dough with a toothpick and remove once it is done.
9Sprinkle with cinnamon while it is hot.
