Get ready to fall in love! This chocolaty recipe will stir your emotions. Serve it when you want to get into the mood to snuggle up close to your significant other. The dark chocolate will stimulate your taste sensations, while the sugar and honey will counterbalance its natural bitterness.

Ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • 80 grams caster sugar (granulated)
  • 20 grams honey
  • 20 grams cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Espelette pepper
  • 200 grams dark chocolate
  • 150 grams butter (soft)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees Celsius.
  2. Separate egg whites from yolks.
  3. Whisk the egg whites up to firm peaks.
  4. In a bowl beat the egg yolks with granulated sugar until the mixture is frothy and doubles in volume.
  5. Add honey, cornstarch, and Espelette pepper.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Melt the chocolate and butter in a microwave or a pan. Add to the preparation.
  8. Gently add the egg whites in by lifting the mass with a spatula.
  9. Pour into a buttered pan or silicone mold.
  10. Bake for 30 minutes.
  11. Leave to cool before unmolding.

This fondant was amazing. It doesn't taste like the store bought varieties that taste horrible. My family can actually eat my cakes when I use fondant. It’s easy to work with and very pliable.
