- 1/4 cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips (vegan)
- 1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoons anise seed (ground)
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 3/4 cup xylitol (or use regular white sugar)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds (mixed with 3 tbsp. water, let sit for a few minutes to thicken)
- 4 ounces unsweetened applesauce
- 5 tablespoons non dairy milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- non dairy milk (for brushing cookies prior to baking)
- colored sugar (crystals, for sprinkling on cookies prior to baking)
