Three types of chocolate—dark chocolate, unsweetened cocoa powder, and chocolate chips—make these brownies triply delectable. The addition of buttermilk and vegetable oil to the batter makes them ultra-moist--and keeps them that way for days. They’re ready to eat in about an hour, and pack a surprising six grams of fiber per serving. Serve them warm, at room temperature, or even chilled the next day, with or without a dusting of confectioners’ sugar.

Ingredients

  • 150 grams flour
  • 120 grams sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 grams dark chocolate
  • 30 grams cocoa (bittersweet powdered)
  • 100 milliliters buttermilk (or milk)
  • 50 grams vegetable oil
  • 5 grams baking powder
  • salt
  • 50 grams chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C.
  2. Melt the chocolate over a double boiler or in the microwave. While it cools, beat the eggs with the sugar in a bowl until light and foamy.
  3. Add the cocoa and a pinch of salt, mix well (it is also possible to use a mixer).
  4. Add the melted chocolate, flour, baking powder, buttermilk, oil, and chocolate chips.
  5. Line a rectangular baking pan (24 x 19 centimeters) with wax paper, butter it and pour the batter inside.
  6. Level the surface and bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Remove the brownies from the oven, let them cool and cut them into squares, you may add chocolate icing on top.

These brownies definitely brought the chocolate flavor I was craving. Compared to other brownie recipes I have made, this one took longer to prepare because of having to use the double boiler to melt chocolate. It was worth it. The brownies tasted great.tasted great.
