How to Make Hot Dogs on a Stick at Home
West coast fast food chain icon, Hot Dog on a Stick, may not be around for much longer. News of the company filing for bankruptcy has devastated devotees of the franchise, who will surely miss the signature sartorial style, the sweet lemonades, and of course, the titular hot dogs on a stick should it go out of business forever.
The first Hot Dog on a Stick stand was opened on Muscle Beach in Santa Monica, CA 68 years ago. Since then, it's served up its signature dogs to millions of people throughout the west coast at over 100 locations in the area. In keeping with the all-American food and offerings, the bright, striped uniforms have been one of the most striking, recognizable features from the franchise — something the founder called, "Red, White, and Blue with a splash of lemonade!"
