Ingredients

  • 2 tbsps chopped garlic
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsps gingerroot (minced)
  • 1/2 tsp black ground pepper (freshly)
  • 1/2 lb flank steak (sliced into 1/8-inch thick, 2-inch-long slivers)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 bunch green onions (cut into 2-inch pieces, green and white parts)
  • 2 ozs shiitake (stems removed and thinly sliced)
  • 1 oz mung bean sprouts
  • 4 cups watercress (fresh, rinsed and patted dry)
  • 1 cup kim chee (recipe follows)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro fresh (leave)
