This is my first time attempting dill pickles. I wanted to start off with a simple, authentic recipe, and I’m glad I found exactly what I was looking for. I was a little concerned about adding sugar but it brought together the flavors well. I also worried a bit about the brine solution turning pink (I tend to get first-time jitters whenever I’m trying something new in the kitchen!) but looks like the garlic was causing it. The pickles are delicious and I expect the flavors to improve with age.
