I added 1/3 c ground flaxseed, maybe a little more, dried cranberries,cherries and dried pomegranates w/ the raisins (about 3/4 cup) and some nuts. Also added 1/2 cup greek yogurt for more moisture with the added ingredients. Love it!!!! I've also made it with gluten free flour, different texture but it still was good.

This was the first time I ever made sconesa nd this recipe was really easy to make and resulted in some very moist scones.
My butter wasn't totally frozen, but it didn't seem to be a problem.
and I threw in my vanilla with the sour cream and eggs, because you can't go wrong with vanilla, but I think this is one recipe where it just didn't matter.
I read somewhere that somebody else modified this by using half whole wheat, I will definitely be trying that next time, and maybe some craisins instead.
I think this is a very easily modified recipe and so far, I'm pretty happy with it.
